Every church has an annual church meeting. This is usually called an Annual Parochial Church Meeting - or APCM. In our case, because we are a guild church, we have an AGCM - an Annual Guild Church Meeting.
Lay (i.e. not clergy) members of church councils, churchwardens and lay members of deanery synods are elected at annual church meetings, but you may only vote in these elections if your name is entered on the church electoral roll. So, the church electoral roll is a voter list which enables you to take part in local church elections.
Every six years church electoral rolls are cleared and prepared once again from scratch. 2025 is one of those years.
In order to be eligible to have your name entered on the electoral roll for St Andrew Holborn, you must:
1. that you are a member of the Church of England or a member in good standing of a Church in communion with it and have habitually attended public worship at St Andrew Holborn during the preceding six months; or
2. that you are a member in good standing of a Church which is not in communion with the Church of England but subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, are also a member of the Church of England and have habitually attended public worship at St Andrew Holborn during the preceding six months.
Please note:
You can be on as many church electoral rolls as you wish, but you may only have your name entered on the electoral roll of one church - parish church or guild church - in the City of London.
The electoral roll is now closed until after the Annual Guild Church Meeting on 7 May 2025. However, you can view the electoral roll as it stands now here:
